Thanks so much for visiting the ACCH production blog! Principle photography on "A Country Called Home" officially began on Monday September 8th! Our first day of production started with a big crew meeting out on the lawn of the first shooting location, where everyone received an enthusiastic welcome from Anna. The first scene of the day was shot with Imogen Poots in her character, Ellie's, home. We then moved on to filming Ellie driving her room mate to work in LA traffic, which thanks to some movie magic was filmed in a parking lot here in Smithville! We ended the day filming a scene in a park with Ryan and his movie "son" Tommy, played by Presley Bowen. Presley did a great job and charmed everyone on set with his infectious laugh and cheerful demeanor!
A small glimpse of a tracking shot of Imogen Poots and Mackenzie Davis getting into the picture car.
Thanks to our great production team and wonderful actors we ended Day 1 on a great note! All things production were equally successful throughout the rest of week 1. We filmed our first night shoot at a funeral home in Elgin on September 10th and filmed another evening scene this past Thursday on Main Street in Smithville.
It was a long but amazing first week. We are now almost at the end of week 2 and are so grateful that we are that much closer to sharing this film with the ACCH community! Thank you again to all of our Kickstarter contributors for supporting this movie. Stay tuned for exciting updates about this past week!
