Thanks so much for checking out the ACCH Production Blog! We have officially WRAPPED filming on “A Country Called Home”! Lot’s has happened since our last blog post went out so lets get you caught up!!
Week 3 put us into the home stretch of production on ACCH. It was another long week but we powered through and had a ton of fun doing it!! Our 3rd week really started on Saturday 9/20 when we had our “2 Weeks Notice” crew party at Deep Eddy’s Cabaret in Austin. It was great to let lose at the midway point of principal photography.
We returned to Deep Eddy’s bright and early at 5am on Monday morning to shoot some bar scenes and we were joined by Tammy and Mike Marlow who are part of our Kickstarter community. Tammy and Mike were extras in one of the bar scene and it was so great to meet them! Thanks so much again to the Marlow's for supporting this movie so generously!!! We ended the 1st day of week 3 filming a scene at a small drug store in Austin.
The following day the ACCH crew was back in Smithville, filming at the local Dairy Queen. That afternoon we moved to a local park where filming continued with great weather and a small army of very spirited 5-year old extras! Presley was very excited to play soccer for a few hours and we all had a great time observing him and the other rascals move their way across the field.
On Wednesday September 24 we spent the entire day filming in Schulenburg, TX where we were warmly received by the Schulenburg locals. It was a long day with the drive to and from Schulenburg, as well as a company move from a bank location to a hardware store but we got the job done with time to spare for a celebratory drink at Sengelmann's Hall!
We finished week 3 of production at our ‘hero’ location, which is film talk for the location we filmed the most scenes at. Thursday was Mackenzie Davis’ last day of filming on ACCH- very sad but we did have almost the entire core cast on set, which was a great way to call a picture wrap on Mackenzie!
